America US - The Series

America US is an episodic series of stories of "US" in America, based in the Early 1900's, highlighting The Great Migration and the African-American Experience.  The series follows the lives and experiences of three young characters;  Ruth, a young black female aspiring to be a writer during the Harlem Renaissance period; Jack, a recent graduate from Tuskegee Institute, determined to change the world through his inventions; and Leon, a jazz musician and WWI veteran, who fought as a member of the under-rated heroic Harlem Hell Fighters. and a member of the 369th Regimental Band during the war.

The first episode of America US is a pilot of the series and is titled, "The Home Coming."  This episode gives the audience a brief background of each of the three characters.  The main premise of episode one is centered around Leon coming back home and being confronted and reminded of all the reasons why he left home in the first place.  This episode will make you laugh and cry, with the back-drop of the historical events that took place in the black American culture.

 

 

 

We not only learn of Ruth's dream to be an aspiring writer, but also her nightmarish past she struggles to leave behind.

 

 

Triumphs are depicted, not only through struggles, but also through hard work and perseverance as we learn of the character Jack, an inventor and family man.
